The Constitution

a. If elected, you will take an oath to uphold the constitution. Tell us about this
oath and what it means to you.

This is a pledge and promise made to protect our country and our rights as citizens of the United States from any oppressive entity or oppressive laws which infringe on on our unalienable rights.

b. What is your view on the sanctity of private property as it pertains to eminent
domain?

I believe Eminant Domain can be used when the property owner neglects Public Safety. I believe that beyond that , there needs to be a very good reason why the property would be needed by government

c. Do you feel our government has curtailed liberties set forth in the
Constitution? Explain your answer in detail.

Yes.. More and more laws are being passed which take away our right to use our own common sense. Laws are passed to regulate what we say (Political Correctness). Democrats openly try to ban the personal possesion of guns,

d. What can you do at the local level to stop, reverse, or prevent erosion of
constitutionally-protected liberties?

To repeal or not pass any law which infringes on the unalienable rights granted us by God and confirmed by our Constitution

The Environment

a. How should Alachua County move forward with the issues of energy, water
and quality of the environment in general?

I believe Alachua County should bring in Nuclear power which is cheaper and cleaner than coal and the proposed Biomass plant. Our enviroment is fragile and needs to be protected. Although I am not a “tree hugger”, I do believe in protecting nature and our wildlife

b. If elected, what do you propose to do about the Cabot-Koppers Superfund site?

This site has been ignored for over 20 years. I will fight whomever I have to to get this place cleaned up before it creates more harm to our enviroment. It is absolutely crazy that there has not been any urgency to get this site cleaned up.

c. Do you support the biomass plant proposal? Explain your answer.

I do not support the Biomass Plant. Our forests will be depleted, it will not burn cleaner or more efficient than our current coal plant. Our roads will have to endure the excessive weight of more and more trucks which will increase our taxes in order to maintain our roads

Limiting/Expanding The Role of Government

a. When you get to the county or city commission, what specific programs\agencies would you abolish?

I would abolish the Choices program in its current form,  I would review County Agencies and eliminate duplicity.

Local government should be responsible for public safety, maintaining local roads, municipal parks and recreation centers and promote economic growth

c. Do you support International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives
(ICLEI)/Local Governments for Sustainability/Agenda 21? Explain.

No … I believe we just need to work together in our communities without getting some UN chartered organization involved. Our local Commission meetings are open to anyone wishing to address issues so I don’t feel we have “underrepresented groups” in our County

Economic Philosophy

a. What do you view as strengths and weaknesses of the free market?

Free markets encourage competition and growth….

b. What would you do to make the city/county more fiscally responsible? Explain.

I would review all County spending and eliminate everything wasteful. I wont roll over and approve every project that comes before the commission, All spending and project funding have to be able to be covered by existing available funds so our taxes are not increased

Are you for or against term limits? Explain.

Yes. Politicians lose site of why they are in office and start putting power over principle to retain office
